About the Program

Position yourself on the cutting edge of healthcare advancements by earning a doctorate that blends computer science, statistics, clinical care, and bioinformatics.

As the only such PhD program in the state, the PhD in Biomedical and Health Informatics program is designed to meet the needs of technology-driven medical discovery. With a focus on AI-assisted solutions and interdisciplinary collaboration, graduates will be prepared to work across healthcare, technology, and academic sectors. Core courses cover foundations in informatics, statistical learning models, artificial intelligence models, research methods and design, as well as privacy, security, and ethics. With three tracks—Translational Bioinformatics, Clinical Informatics, and AI in Medicine—graduates will develop the nuanced skills necessary for this rapidly growing and innovative field.

Delivery Methods

On-Campus

This program delivers most of its content via on-campus, in-person meetings.

Blended

This program delivers at least half of the content online with the remaining content delivered via on- campus meetings. Please check with the program director for more information about on-campus requirements.
